CASINOS
Each casino is unique, but all offer the popular table games; blackjack, roulette, craps, baccarat, Caribbean Stud Poker, Pai Gow, Let It Ride as well as most of the newer games like Spanish 21 and Double Exposure Blackjack that we haven’t quite figured out yet. Most have a poker room, featuring Texas Hold-em, other popular games and free sandwiches.
All offer free parking, valet and are open 24 hours a day, every single day of the year.
Every casino has a players’ club. When you sign up, the time you devote to playing goes in your account and the casinos will reward you with comps—free meals, special events, gifts and more.
CAESAR'S WINDSOR
377 Riverside Dr. East, Windsor
888-991-7777
www.caesarswindsor.com
This opulent riverfront casino resort was the first gaming house in the region and continues to set the bar. More like a Vegas casino, with its multiple floors, lavish fountains and décor. Recently acquired by Caesar’s (of Palace fame), it has been totally revamped with a 400 million dollar renovation and expansion. This includes a new hotel, 100,000 square feet of convention space, new restaurants and retail, and a 5,000-seat entertainment center spotlighting world-class performers. They are set up for currency exchange and offer a fair rate. No passport is currently required to visit.• The hotel is the only AAA rated Four Diamond hotel in downtown Windsor. Two hotel towers feature 758 magnificent guest rooms overlooking the picturesque riverfront and Detroit skyline. Enjoy the spacious and airy fitness center complete with indoor pool, sauna, whirlpool and fitness equipment.
• Dining options include the casual yet upscale bistro-style Artist Café; Legends Sports Bar, where you won't miss a play (there are 36 flat screens) and the kitchen cranks out huge burgers and tailgate favorites; the lavish Market Buffet, taking all-you-can-eat to new levels with exceptional dishes, many prepared before your eyes; the ultra quick and casual Pronto Café; or go all out at Nero’s Steakhouse, which offers a memorable fine-dining experience inspired by the world-famous Caesar’s Palace restaurant in Las Vegas.
• Nightlife can be found not only at the tables, but also at two great hot spots, Cosmos and VU. Cosmos is modern and luxurious, featuring live entertainment on weekends. The cozy VU lounge mixes hip décor and drinks, and there's an outdoor patio with an incredible VU of the Detroit skyline.
GREEKTOWN CASINO
555 Lafayette, Detroit 888-771-4FUN
www.greektowncasino.com
Greektown, the most “downtown” of all casinos, feeds off the city’s action. Located in what was the mammoth retail space formerly known as Trapper’s Alley, it is a multi-level adventure in gaming excitement. The casino is right in the heart of the historic and lively Greektown district—so walking around is not a problem. In fact, you can take the People Mover—there is a station right in the building. Or park conveniently in the brand new parking deck. Greektown Casino is open and airy, with flaming torches and an Olympian essence. “Let the party begin” is the oft-heard slogan.
• Greektown plans to open their fabulous 30-story luxury hotel in the fall of 2008.
• You can use your “comps” at nearby restaurants such as the lively vibe of Fishbone’s or a traditional Greek meal at the Old Parthenon. We applaud the Greektown Casino for including local businesses in the prosperity plan. Choices are many—there are over 20 restaurants, all within a short walk. Or you can eat right at the casino; grab a quick bite at the Grapevine Café or treat yourself to their high-end steakhouse, the Alley Grill.
MGM GRAND DETROIT 1777 Third St., Detroit 877-888-2121

The Palette Dining Studio offers a mouth-watering spread of all-you-can-eat abundance, or choose Breeze, where you can breeze out with a fast, delicious meal.
